Two of the 17-20 tall slash pines in the Eagle’s area  were cut down and removed in mid-February.  They are two of several dead trees, but these threatened nearby structures.

.According to the tree experts present one tree was most certainly killed by lightening.  The other probably succumbed to too much water or pine bores (insects) which were evident, but could have invaded the tree after its death.

The experts feel another tree on homeowner’s property will probably have to go within a year.  They suggest, again, the likely suspect is too much water.  That tree sits at the  southwest edge of the Eagle’s Area.  The work was done by Raber’s Lawn service.
